Principal's Biography

Principal Alexis Brown

Alexis Brown’s diverse professional background spans over a decade in public education and law. She is returning to Houston ISD as the new Principal of the Barbara Jordan Career Center, following her successful leadership tenure at KIPP. Prior to that, Alexis served as a Houston ISD educator for eleven years and practiced personal injury law in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her commitment to academic excellence was inspired by her mother, a dedicated elementary teacher and middle school administrator. Alexis holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of North Texas, a J.D. from Texas Southern University, and an M.Ed. from Lamar University.
